Madison West Kiwanis Foundation

The Madison West Kiwanis Foundation was established in 1995 primarily as a way to accept tax deductible donations from the public in support of the annual Christmas Pageant. Until that time, generous donors could not deduct gifts made to the club as it is not registered as a 501 ©(3). Over the ensuing years, the Foundation has become much more than just a portal for donations; it has created and supported its own stable of charitable works.

The Ethel Allen Adaptive Ski Scholarship, The Henry Ahlgren Humanitarian Scholarship and a portion of the Club Grants are all supported through Foundation proceeds. In addition, the Foundation makes ongoing gifts to the club to strengthen its service offerings.

The Foundation is managed by a Board of Trustees distinct from the Club’s Board. The Board is tasked with managing the Foundation’s assets, ensuring charitable compliance, identifying new opportunities, making charitable allocation decisions, and ensuring the long-term health of the Foundation.
