This will be the 20th year that the club has participated in the Dane County Paint-A-Thon sponsored by Habitat for Humanity. This year’s event is on August 13, 2011 and the goal is to help fulfill Project Home’s mission to improve the quality and affordability of housing for low-income, elderly and disabled residents in Dane County.

In 2011, our club once again teamed up with employees of TDS Telecom to help out an East Madison home owner. As usual, we had volunteers of all skill levels, many who have participated all 20 years. Of course with that many savvy professionals, we sometimes had more chiefs than Indians, but everyone who did participate agreed it was a great time.
As in years past, the homeowner was incredibly grateful and took it upon herself to provide donuts in the morning and beverages throughout the day. A few lucky people were even invited back to raid the pear tree when it came in bloom later in the fall.

In total, the event saw 300 volunteers wash, scrap and paint 15 houses in Dane County. Since 1989, the Paint-a-thon has serviced 463 homes in 27 Dane County communities.
